The North American Minor Lacrosse Association (NAMLA) has been in existence since 2004 and is comprised of lacrosse organizations that represent the Native communities of Allegany, Newtown, Niagara, Tonawanda, Onondaga and Oneida, whose participants are predominantly Haudenosaunee, but not exclusively, as we have also engaged non-Native youth from the surrounding areas of our communities.

Last Season NAMLA enrolled over 900 participants in the league.  This healthy number of particpants represent the collective efforts of the NAMLA Executive Board of Directors in providing an active and vital outlet for positive expressions through our coveted sport of lacrosse.  To our knowledge, 2004 marked the first time that an organized youth serving system of box lacrosse has ever been established in New York State.  NAMLA is very proud to be the forerunner in this regard.

NAMLA strives to continuosly improve our organization for the youth we serve.  We have mandated that coaches and bench personnel are certified and accredited to maintain a position of leadership within each member association.  NAMLA provides trainings to facilitate the certification and accreditation of our coaches and staff.
